Kevin Spencer

Group CEO
 
Kevin is the founder and majority shareholder of Markerstudy Group of Companies.  With a strong belief in the intermediary market, his early experience was formed in a small provincial broker, followed by the role of Agency Consultant and later, Managing Director of Lloyd's broker Edgar Hamilton and Wellard.  Following the birth of Markerstudy in 2001, Kevin considers the subsequent creation of this expansive Group of companies to be amongst his proudest achievements.

Gary Humphreys

Group Underwriting Director

Gary is the second largest shareholder and joint founder of Markerstudy Group. After a career in underwriting in the Lloyd's market, he joined forces with Kevin Spencer in 1997 to establish the MGA that became Markerstudy. Gary continues to head up the insurance operations, as well as contributing to the development of other companies within the Group.

Keith Barber

Group Finance Director

Following a first class degree in Economics and Business Economics at Southampton University, Keith qualified as a Chartered Accountant while working for Ernst and Young. After several senior auditing roles at KPMG, he became Financial Controller in various divisions of Equity Group (formerly Cox). Keith joined the Markerstudy Group board in 2005 with responsibility for group finance.

Steve Stone

Group Head of Motor 

Steve joined Markerstudy Group in 2010, after nearly 29 years with Ensign/QBE. During this period he spent 15 years underwriting motor business from around the globe, in several European countries, Australia, New Zealand and Africa. Steve was one of the Ensign management team involved in the purchase of the Torch motor syndicate in 1999. The same team then carried out a management buyout of Ensign from Limit in 2001, subsequently selling the business to QBE in 2004.

Tom Morrissey, ACII, Chartered Insurer, MinstLM

Divisional Head Commercial

Tom started his career in 1988 at Sun Alliance in the West End progressing through a variety of underwriting roles. After gaining experience at Aviva and Allianz Tom joined Zenith Marque (formerly Chaucer Insurance) in 2008 and is the Divisional Head Commercial.

Tom is responsible for the continued development of the Commercial and Property Owners business segments. Developing and implementing the business plans to deliver both growth and profitability whilst expanding the growing broker base and delivering excellent customer service. As well as managing these accounts, Tom has a hands-on roll in underwriting new and existing business, particular large clients and complex risks.

Jon Bryant

Fleet Division Head

Jon gained a degree in Business Studies from Southampton Institute and started his career working for a London market broker before moving to Chaucer in 2001 within the fleet department. In 2006, Jon moved to work for ERS in the London market as a Fleet Underwriter. Jon returned to Chaucer Insurance in 2008 to become Head of Fleet, operating predominately within the Lloyds market before changing his role to Head of Commercial Motor in 2012.

Gary Thompson

Product Head Zenith Marque Schemes

Gary has been in the insurance industry for 25 years and started his career with NIG. He has underwritten all classes of motor insurance during this time and has focussed on the non-standard market for the majority of his career. Gary has worked for Chaucer, now Zenith Marque, for over 12 years.
